After the Party: What to Do With Your Fabulous Dress

November 23, 2017 at 11:22 am, No comments

Most often, you buy your dresses only for certain events such as homecoming, prom or someone else's wedding. But what should you do after these parties are over? It would definitely be awkward if you wear the same dress again for the same event next year, right? So here are some tips for you.

Save it as a memento of the event

For proms, birthday debut parties and other once-in-a-lifetime social events, you can keep your dress as a memento especially if it's made with good quality materials and craftsmanship like the ones you can find on Peaches Boutique online.

Pass it on to a younger sibling

If you have a younger sister, then she could possibly fit the dresses that you have outgrown. She could also don your prom dresses on the night she'll be attending such memorable event in a year or so. To avoid looking like your duplicate, she may want to alter a few features on the dress or wear a different set of jewelry and accessories.

Put it up for sale

While the dress is still looking like brand new, consider selling it so that you can get back a huge part of the expenses you incurred in acquiring it. This will also give you the right to label your dress as "used only once." There could be someone out there looking for a gorgeous dress but on a shoestring budget for prom or homecoming. You can include your dress in your yard sale, but for a quicker and more hassle-free method, you can sell your dress online whether on buy-and-sale websites or on your personal social media account.

Alter it and wear it again

In many cases, some dresses are only acquired for certain events such as prom or homecoming. But with a few tweaks, you can transform your old dress into something with a brand new look. With that, you can be sure that you won't look exactly the same when you wear the dress again for another event. Ensure quality handiwork by entrusting experienced dressmakers or tailors to alter your dress.
